Cubase Froze with SA 'Contemporary Drama Toolkit'

Cubase Pro 14 froze today (first time ever) when I was using a patch in the Spitfire Audio Contemporary Drama Toolkit library.

Just a frozen UI, including Kontakt 7 host. Had to end the task in Task manager. Windows 11, 64GB RAM, 4 core processor.

I have attached the crash dump file if anyone is able to tell me what caused the freeze, I would be very grateful.
Cubase 14.0.20 64bit 2025.3.13 17.32.45.266-freezedump.dmp (1.7 MB)

That is a freezedump, there is nothing that points to a plugin.
I’d actually like to know how to interpret these, but I suspect it is not so easy, if anyone here knows, please do tell
My guess is that it is some deadlock, but I don’t really know.

I’m hoping @Martin.Jirsak will take a look.

Hi,

Do you have the latest NI Kontakt installed, please?

Same here, I would also love to learn how to correctly interpret a freeze dump :+1:

Hello Martin, thank you for your reply.

I have Kontakt 7 version 7.10.7 installed, which I understand is the most recent update.

I think that would be Kontakt 8.

Why would you think that? I know which Kontakt I’m using (see the OP). It’s the most recent update of Kontakt 7.

Martin asked if you had the

You answered that you run the latest update of the previous version.
That’s it, chill…

The library I had the issue with runs perfectly well in Kontakt 7. So, I suggest you leave me to ask Martin about it. I’ve reported you for harassment. Keep digging.

No words.

Hi,

Does this library work in NI Kontakt 8 Player, please? Could you try to install it and test it in this scenario, please? Thank you!

There was an issue with Kontakt causing an infinite loop on GUI updates. This is fixed in the meantime, but I don’t recall which version. That’s why I’m asking to test in the very latest Kontakt version.

Careful, he/she will probably report your for harassment, too, now that you mentioned that Kontakt 8 is the latest version
