Cubase iC Pro 1.2.7 for Android available

Dear all,

We’re excited to announce the immediate availability of Cubase iC Pro 1.2.7 for Android, featuring the following improvements and fixes:

  • Enhanced compatibility with the latest Android versions.
  • Resolved an issue where the search function did not respond as expected.
  • General performance and stability improvements for a smoother user experience.

Get Cubase iC Pro on Google Play

Please note: On some devices, the search function may still show irregular behaviour. If you encounter issues, closing and reopening the search window should restore functionality.

Additionally, we are currently investigating reports that Cubase iC Pro may not function properly on Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ devices. We appreciate your patience while we look into this.

If you enjoy using Cubase iC Pro, we’d be grateful if you could rate the app on Google Play.

Enjoy being creative,
Lars

Nice to have an update at last, but how do I get the 1.2.7 update? Do I have to but it again now?

Hi @fenderchris

Thanks for your message.

Cubase iC Pro 1.2.7 for Android is a free update for users who previously purchased the app via Google Play, and is available for download through Google Play.

Best,
Lars

I have a fairly significant problem with how this app works (or more precisely doesn’t), and more than that how my problem was handled.

I am familiar with iC Pro and have used it since it firm came out. I use and will continue to use the app in its iOS form on my iPad and have no problem with it. I purchased the android release also when it was first released because I wanted control at two locations and had an android phone. I stopped using it when it stopped being supported and my phone got to be old tech.

To try to summarize the problem. I was able to download and install 1.2.7 from the Play store. I established contact with my workstation. It gave me a title page screen and then basically a blank side by side pair of pages. I was able to go into the “wrench” mode and see a variety of factory built control buttons which may have worked but I had no use for them. I basically wanted about one page of functions and basically only much cared about four menu functions. I tried to edit a button several time using a menu item from the transport column. when I tried to do this I would get odd looking pages with blank fields that I think were supposed to be populated with menu items.

When I tapped on these more often than not I got colorful glitchy confetti on the screen.

I tried to clarify using the PDF manual that was available and was unable to get even ONE button to work.

So Part 2- since this was something that Steinberg put its name on, I contacted customer support via chat and was told that they couldn’t help me and that I should try the forums (which don’t seem to exist for this) and that I had to pursue a refund through Google Play.

Google Play will not refund my purchase.

I have deleted the app since it is useless to me. I would have tried it on a chromebook but it was not available for that machine/version of the OS. I wish that it hadn’t been available for my phone (Google Pixel) unless it had been thoroughly vetted.

I would like a refund please.

Hi @x.s.music

I’m sorry to read about your issue.
Please take a look at the PM I sent you, which includes the details to get in touch with me.

Best,
Lars

Bien cordialement

This app has great potential but it would do better if one could select tracks on the mixer page. The last time I used it, it could not. This would help artists like me who do their own back up vocals. One would be able to select the next track and still be able to reduce the volume track. I don’t mind paying for a more versatile version of iC Pro if it would require paid for upgrade.

Hi @Tshepo,

Thanks for your message.

If you open the Key Commands page in Cubase iC Pro, you can easily navigate up and down (e.g., in the track list) as well as left and right in the project using the corresponding key command buttons - see screenshot below.

Best regards,
Lars

Hi @Jean_Luczak

Thanks for your message.

Are you able to manually enter the IP of your computer in the iC Pro app, which is shown under Studio/Studio Setup/SKI Remote in Cubase (see screenshot below).
The number displayed should read something like 192.168.x.x

Plus, do you use iC Pro for Android or iOS?

Best,
Lars

The app SKI Remote is crashing my Cubase, Why??

Hi @Pablin_Drummer2,

Please share a few more details:

  • Which Cubase version are you using (including OS info)?
  • Are you on macOS or Windows (and which version)?

Best regards,
Lars

Hi Lars, Im on Mac Sonoma 14.8.2 - Cubase Pro 15

Thanks. I’m aware of this but it is a hindrance to faster work flow because one has to go to another page for this.

Hi @Pablin_Drummer2

I gave Cubase iC Pro a short check on the iPhone, iPad, Smartphone and tablet where everything with Cubase Pro 15 work as expected - see clip below.

Please take follow the steps in this article and let me know if this helps resolving your problem:

Best,
Lars

Thanks Lars. The application works. The problem is that it seems to create an error when exiting Cubase, or it closes it incorrectly. I’ve attached an IPS file.

HI @Pablin_Drummer2

Please add the screenshot of the error again, so I can share it with our engineering.

Thanks
Lars

Good idea, Sir, but it doesn’t work, unfortunately. Still “host not found” when the exact name od my own PC appears on my tablet or my smartphone (cubase @ my pc). I use androïd, last update. Very sad… Btw, thank you for your regard for my problems !

This is truly embarrassing…

In the end, I’m going to have to make the complete transition to the Avid app…
