Hi everyone! My new Cubase 14 is making a lot of unwanted noises today. I’m using a Mac with an Apple M1 chip, don’t have an external audio interface. Cubase is telling me all the time that asio driver changed it’s sample rate, I then adjust the sample rate of the project, but then the sample rate of asio changes back and the message appears again. Meanwhile when I started this project I heard a lot of clicks from the kick. After opening an earlier project that didn’t have this problem - the clicks dissappeared. But then I also noticed that when I try to apply a modulator to my bass, that ducks volume - the modulator makes loud hissing. I kind of solved this problem too by switching to tal-filter. But I would like to use modulators too when I need them. I want to know why the noises appeared, I don’t want to spend my music making time fighting against clicks and hissing. Does anyone have any guesses, why Cubase is behaving like this? Maybe getting an external audio interface will make life better?
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Try to increase the Buffer Size, please.
THank you!!! Problem solved. However the modulator still makes a soft click once in a while, but that’s okay I guess, nothing is perfect. I kind of think that the main cause of any problems that arise is the Apple M1 chip because it’s not a real processor.
Hi,
Try to increase the Buffer Size even higher.
I’m using M1 too.
