Cubase Key Editor suddenly draws only 1-bar notes — what did I press?

Hey everyone,
I’m losing my mind here Yesterday everything was fine — I could draw notes freely that matched my grid (1/16, 1/32, etc.). Today, every single note I draw in the Key Editor is stuck at exactly 1 bar long.

It doesn’t matter if my grid is set to 1/16 or even 1/64 — Cubase just keeps inserting bar-length notes. The only way I can shorten them is by dragging with the mouse, which is super annoying.

I must have accidentally pressed some toggle, because this wasn’t happening before. Things I’ve checked:

• Quantize grid is correct.

• Snap is on.

• Reset preferences didn’t change it.

please rightclick here in your Key Editor:

Now you can add Length Quantize to your toolbar. Use the drop down menue of the newly added Length Quantize tab and check if it is set to 1/1 (bar), please.

Hi,

By default, the Length Quantize is set to Quantize Link, so it follows the Grid. I would recommend this setting.
