Cubase LE 14...what version should I buy?

I have Cubase LE 14 which I got “free” via AMazon. Its just a 30 day trial I think. But I don’t see how I purchase it. When I opened up the purchase link under ABOUT, it gives me the option to buy three different levels of the product, $500.00 to 50.0. But it says that all three are only for upgrading from Cubase AI 12-14, I dont have this “AI” version, it’s LE. The important thing for me is that whatever version of Cubase I get, it needs to have the guitar rack VST. I haven’t yet explored the trial LE version enough to find out what VSTs are included. Plse advise on what I should buy on limited amateur home studio budget, and where to get it.

Because you didn’t, if it’s free then it’s a trial.

You can not upgrade from a trial version, you will have to buy a version.

Not sure which versions have this but you can find on steinberg’s website features comparison between different versions.

Buy directly from steinberg’s website and choose according to your budget and your needs. If not sure the work on the trial version you got to see the features that offers you and if it is not enough then you know.

Cubase LE does not have a trial version. How did you get it free from Amazon exactly?? It usually only comes bundled with hardware

EDIT: I previously posted outdated information: As steve says below…ALL cubase versions are on one installer now.

If by the Guitar Rack VST you mean VST Amp Rack then any version you can buy has it. So Elements is the cheapest option.

The installer for C14 is now one app for all derivatives.

LE is free with gear.

I don’t see a guitar rack, but if the vst amp rack works for you, it’s included in the less expensive Elements program.

If you need the bass amp rack, you’ll have to step up to Artist or Pro.

Cubase LE has the AmpSimulator, which will get you started. There are also loads of good, free amp sims out there. My advice would be to get to know Cubase LE first, and only when you find it is too limited should you spend any more money.

The good thing about Cubase editions is that you only pay the difference between them, so I’d suggest starting with Elements (and only when you’re sure you need it!), then you can always upgrade to Artist, and later to Pro, if you feel you will use the extra features.

It’s honestly impressive how quickly you went from asking for help to attacking the people trying to assist you. Maybe if you spent half as much time actually understanding the version of Cubase you have, instead of jumping to conclusions, you wouldn’t be so confused.

You initially said you had Cubase LE , which you “got free” via Amazon. But then you called it a 30-day trial. That’s not what Cubase LE is, and it’s strange that you missed the part where Grim pointed out that LE comes bundled with hardware, not as a trial. So, right from the start, you’ve had everyone scratching their heads, wondering exactly which version you’re talking about.

And then you post this gem:

“How much plainer could I have stated it? I have a trial version.”

Well, if it was so clear, then why did you think Cubase LE was a 30-day trial? That doesn’t sound very clear to me, but maybe it’s just me.

Now, you’re telling us

“I’m going to buy according to budget and needs. Brilliant advice.”

Brilliant advice indeed, especially considering you didn’t bother to take five minutes to understand the software you already have. If you spent some time actually researching or comparing the versions on Steinberg’s website, maybe you’d have a clearer picture of what you actually need instead of waiting for someone to spoon-feed you the answers.

But hey, Get the PRO version kid. Maybe that will help you figure things out.
But I’d suggest doing a little homework before making a decision.
