Cubase LE 5 - Midi contoller - Change Program/Instrument ?

Hi guys
I have Cubase Le 5 with a Novation Launchkey 25 connected, I can create and assign the basic midi controller successfully, such as volume control, track change and transport functions but I can’t find how I can assign a control to change the midi instrument/program with the launchkey… Any ideas

Hi and welcome,

If you want to change a sound of hardware instrument, use the Program Change MIDI command. But it’s not so simple to send it from a hardware MIDI Controller and actually almost none can do it.

If you want to change a preset of a virtual instrument, then the way is even more complicated. Via Generic Remote Device you can assign to select Previous- or Next Preset, but you can’t load a specific preset. Why do you need to change it? Could you just create another track with another instrument instance and use other sound?

Preset (Next and Previous) worked just fine… Just want to hear what a line sounds like played by a different instrument
