Punch record just selecting the desired range,
The macro will rewind 2 bars, enables record, starts playing and records the selected range. Assign to a key command.
This is very useful for recording and hear what is already recorded on track that many people request with just 1 button. Enable Tapemachine style in Preferences.
If you just want to rehearse press Ctrl+Z after stop so that you undo the recording.
You can also set “Preferences-stop after automatic punch out.”
with PLE - record enable:
Then you can assign another key command to listen to the recorded range, it will disable the record button, rewind 2 bars and start playing:
