Cubase no output and no signal

Good day, i’ve been encountering an issue recently where all my most recent projects have issue with sound output. it all started where i could no longer play audio from other sources on my computer while cubase was open, this was never and issue in the past and the “release driver while in background” did absolutly nothing. then the issue became that cubase itself would no longer output any audio.

I use the control room and everything has been properly routed. while the project plays there is no meter activity and no sound output. everything is routed properly as it has been for the past few months yet not sound, no meter activity.

if i turn the control room off and use the regular output section, its the same outcome.

if i switch the preset in the control room to default then back to my preset, it sometimes fixes issue it but rarely. usually only after i reset the computer. once its fixed the project will behave normally until i close cubase and re-open the project. if i try to load and activate another project while the “no output” project is open it will freeze cubase until i force quit it.

i wiped cubase clean from my computer and sacrificed all my preferences as i assumed this was linked to a corrupt preference file but after re-installing everything and setting up the control room back up to my liking, new projects still behave this way. older projects work fine. when i say newer projects i do not mean empty projects. these work fine. its my fully loaded almost finished projects that behave this way. if i open the project with disabled pluggins. it works.

i am under the assumption its a pluggin issue?

What’s your audio interface and are you using the ASIO driver dedicated to it ? Beside this, the problem I have with your screenshot is that it doesn’t show the Audio Performance meter (F12 key shortcut, by default - I don’t think that I have changed it) :

Additionaly, could you add a screenshot of your Audio System panel ? I suspect that your ASIO driver is inactive, for a reason. It’s often the case, on my end, sadly (Cubase ↔ RME ASIO driver connection issue). If the same for you, eventually, use (at least once) the Reset button, until you have an activity displayed in the audio performance meter again.

EDIT : by the way, on your screenshot, I see the Cycle button activated, but not the Play one…

Sounds like an accurate assumption.
In this case, I would try and pinpoint what or which plugins are misbehaving.

You’re right in my screenshot it actually wasn’t playing.

I think I’ve narrowed it down to my latest sample library addition to my template. Pacific strings ensemble by performance samples. The template with this kontakt instrument loaded doesn’t output sound until I go in audio connections and re-intiate my control room preset, while the template without this kontakt instrument loaded outputs audio perfectly fine.

Same situation with fully fleshed out projects with Pacific strings(no output until reset) and those without it (all good from project load).

I had a ton of kontakt instances with many other libraries. I fail to understand why this specific one causes an issue.

I should add both templates are identical save for the Pacific and no Pacific.
