Cubase Pro 10.5.12 Mac (wie auch vorige Versionen) crasht öfter unvermittelt auf Mojava

Hallo zusammen,

vielleicht hat jemand von euch einen Tipp für mich. Ich dachte mir, Steinberg findet und fixt das schon in einer zukünftigen Version, aber…

so gefühlt seit Version 9.x erlebe ich häufig unvermittelte Crashes von Cubase Pro auf meinem MBP (Retina 15 Zoll Mitte 2015) unter Mojave (inzwischen 10.14.6). Oft trat das Problem schon direkt beim Laden eines mittelgroßen Projekts mit ca. 30 Audiospuren, einigen Instrumentenspuren (allesamt NI Kontakt) und ein paar Plugins (Cubase-eigene wie z.B. VST Bass AMP sowie iZotope Nectar und Ozone, sowie SonarWorks Reference Plugin (eine Art EQ)) auf. Cubase hat sich einfach plötzlich ohne Fehlermeldung beendet – erst beim dritten Neustart von Cubase + Laden des Projekts hat es dann geklappt und ich konnte meist 1-2 Stunden ohne Probleme arbeiten. Erst nach etwa 1 Minute erscheint das Fenster mit den Details zum Crash. Ich schicke sie immer auch an Apple, aber ich bin nicht sicher, ob Steinberg darauf Zugriff hat.

Inzwischen bin ich bei Cubase Pro 10.5.12 und heute schon 5 plötzliche Crashes - mal beim Bearbeiten von Midi-Noten im Editor, mal beim “Einschalten” einer ausgeschalteten Spur, mal beim Laden des Projekts.

NI Kontakt halte ich stets auf dem aktuellen Stand, OSX Mojave und Sonarworks ebenso.

Es ist übrigens dabei egal, ob ich unterwegs die internen Lautsprecher bzw. den internen Kopfhörerausgang, oder das UR44 Audio-Interface (Treiber sind auch aktuell) aktiv habe.

Es scheint eine Zugriffsverletzung zu sein, offenbar direkt aus Cubase selbst und nicht aus einem Plugin oder Treiber – müsste also daher Steinbergs Aufgabe sein das zu fixen, oder?

Habt ihr ähnliche Probleme? Hat jemand einen Tipp?

Hallo,

ich kann zwar nicht helfen, habe aber seit der aktuellen Version 10.5.12 exakt das gleiche Problem. Mal beim Spur hinzufügen, mal beim Abspielen, mal beim Editieren, plötzlich hängt alles und es hilft nur noch den Rechner auszuschalten. Echt nervig…

jetzt kann ich doch helfen. Der Cubase Support hat mir diesen Link zukommen lassen. Bei mir hat der Punkt Initializing preferences" geholfen. Bisher kein Crash mehr…

Ich kann das bestätigen. Bei Updates muss Cubase ja die alten Voreinstellungen übernehmen. Dort wird ja dynamisch immer wieder hineingeschrieben. Einstellungen etc. Dadurch schleicht sich über längere Zeiträume mal ein “Fehlerchen” ein. Niemand kann sagen warum und wieso… Dieses Phänomen ist hier im Forum bestimmt schon seid 10 Jahren in unzähligen Beiträgen vorhanden. Auch von mir… Cubase kennt ja nur 2 Arten von Vorgaben (Preferenzen) 1.in der Library 2.im Projekt . Wenn also Projektübergreifend solch ein Fehler auftritt liegt es mit großer Sicherheit an den Preferenzen. Einfach den Cubase Ordner “Preferences” suchen und durch umbenennen ein X einfügen. Dann Cubase Neustart. Cubase legt jetzt automatisch einen neuen Ordner an. Alles gut ! Nur deine persönlichen Voreinstellungen sind dann weg. Deshalb plädiere ich schon seid ewigen Zeiten die Standard Voreinstellungen zu benutzen. Dann kann man häufiger mal einen “Preferences-Reset” machen. Ich weiß, es gibt auch Gründe gegen diese Art der Benutzung. Aber bevor ich stundenlang in den Einstellungen “herumwurschtel” gewöhne ich mich lieber an den Standard! Der steht dann auch im Handbuch.

Hi, ja sorry nochmal an euch alle! Ich hatte durch Corona mit den Kindern und noch zwei ehrenamtliche Engagements so viel um die Ohren, dass ich nichts mehr gemacht habe. Und anscheinend habe ich vom alten Forum keine E-Mail-Benachrichtigen bekommen und gar nicht gesehen, dass ihr geantwortet hattet.
