Anyone got experience on using Roli’s controllers with Cubase? More specifically, the Seabord Block M with Equator 2 VST3. How do you set it up?
When playing Equator 2 standalone, everything works nicely. But inside Cubase, I just can’t make it work. First of all, it’s always full velocity. Second, pitch bend (glide) doesn’t seem to work as 48 semitones, it sounds more like 12.
All of this works perfectly in standalone, so I guess my Cubase setting are wrong.
Here’s what I’ve done:
set up Roli Dashboard in MPE mode, in default settings
in Cubase, in Equator 2’s track inspector, I’ve activated “Seaboard Block M (NoteExp) / Any Input” in input channel/device and “Any” in MIDI output channel
in Note Expression menu, I’ve activated Pitchbend, Poly Pressure and Brightness (CC74), with controls like I want them (the default way I guess, like it works in standalone).
I’ve ticked “Record MIDI as Note Exp.”
Using Cubase Pro 14 on MacOS.
What am I missing? Can you point me to a tutorial?
I am struggling with this right now. Did Roli suggest anything else when they talked to you? I have done exactly what Roli have said, and what you posted but pitch bend is STILL not working for me
Hey Nefhril, thank you very much for the quick reply! Especially since this thread must be quite the distant memory for you!
Here are some screenshots of my settings and I am really struggling to think of what I must be doing wrong. The glide/pitch just refuses to work when in cubase 14 but works just fine standalone:
I just did a clean install of Cubase 14 and tried it. What made it work for me after the install was doing the “Inspector under Routing set Channel to Any”
Also note that in your screenshot of the Note Expression sub-menu, you don’t have any of the expression CCs selected. You can play them just fine, but if you record that track, it won’t record the unselected expression MIDI data. Just an FYI.
