I am using [Cubase] 14 pro. Mac Studio M1 Max- 32 gigs ram
I updated Waves, I-Lock, Softube, Soundtoys, Toontrack
I think I’m up to date with
Apogee, Pulsar, UAD plugins
Cubase crashed three times yesterday-
Random stuff- clicking on the right locator to type in a value was one.
I did not see a blacklisted plugin-
Anyone have issues like this?
I sent logs to Steinberg- but I don’t know where to start troubleshooting.
My template has some sends on it
Apogee Clearmountain Spaces
Sofube Atlantis Reverb
UAFX tape delay
Toontrack EZ Drummer 3
Cubase has been solid until this-
How do I go about troubleshooting this?
Are you using an external soundcard ?
Yes- Neumann MT 48
Did you check for new drivers ?
I had a similar issue with my Focurite 18i20, turned out there was a new driver and after I installed that everything was okay.
Not saying that’s your problem but worth checking IMHO.
IMO, this should be the very first thing users do after upgrading to a new OS, and only after ensuring vendor support prior to upgrading. I constantly check for new drivers for my UAD systems as even minor-version updates on MacOS exhibit different behavior. By way of example, UAD was pretty stable on 15.2, but 15.3 has yet-unexplained TB disconnects every few days that (fortunately) only require plug-cycle.
I have checked all of those things. I can’t say for sure that I had restarted my computer after updating the Waves and Softube plugins- but I did that yesterday and was unable to get Cubase to crash last night. So… so far so good.
PS I love Variaudio
Just to throw this in… I see you have soundtoys in your list, and in my particular setup, running OSX 15.2, my soundtoys plugins have been consistantly crashing C14.
Thank you- I did notice that the Soundtoys plugins have not been updated very recently- so you may be right.
