Cubase Pro 14 - MacMini M4 - Preset-Saving Issues and Plugin Troubles—Need Help!

I recently switched from PC to Mac and installed a fresh copy of Cubase Pro 14 on my Mac Mini M4. I didn’t transfer data or apps from my old PC, but I did import my “File Manager.srf” to bring over my user settings, presets, key commands, routings, templates, etc.

Now, I’m facing some issues with saving presets:

  • I can’t save presets for plugins or synths. When I try to save a preset in Cubase (e.g., for an insert or send), it doesn’t work. This happens with all plugins and VSTs.
  • Additionally, none of my Acustica Audio plugins are working, and it seems related to the preset saving issue.

As a new Mac user, I looked into fixing permission issues. I deleted the preferences folder at:
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Cubase 14
and let Cubase create a new one, but the issues persist.

I found that creating a new Mac user account solves the problem, but I have many custom presets, libraries, and routings for my hardware synths and analog gear, so I’d prefer to identify the specific file or folder causing this instead of starting fresh.

Does anyone know if there’s another location I should check?

Thanks in advance!

VST Plug-In presets are saved here:
/Users/username/Library/Audio/Presets/
Do you have write access to this folder and its subfolders?

Hi,

Please, have a look to this workaround.

Thanks ! that fixed the problem of saving the presets !!!
However with the acustica audio i still having Major issue ;

Tested Cubase with Rosetta enabled: Acustica Audio plugins (Fire The Clip) worked fine. Disabled Rosetta, and the issue returned. Conclusion: plugins work only with Rosetta.
Any Idea why is that ?

What exactly is the problem with the plug-ins? Are they not available when you start Cubase natively? If this is the case then maybe the plug-ins are not updated to work natively on Apple Silicon? Contact the manufacturer if this is the case!
