I currently use Cubase Pro 11 and am considering a switch to Cubase Artist 14, which has all the features I need. I’m running the DAW on an older Windows 10 PC (Dell XPS 8300, 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 2600, 8GB 1,333MHz DDR3 SDRAM, AMD Radeon HD 5700) and was wondering if Cubase Artist is less demanding of system resources? If not, then I’ll likely just upgrade Cubase Pro 11 to Cubase Pro 14. However, if there is a performance benefit by using Cubase Artist 14, it might help extend the usefulness of my current machine.
As a follow-on question if there is no system demand difference, will I have any issues running Cubase Pro 14 on my machine (Pro 11 works pretty well)?
You can find the system requirements for Cubase here:
Beyond that, I would strongly recommend that you install Cubase 14 and run it in trial mode to see how it performs on your machine.
PS I have not performed any tests to confirm but I would be surprised if there are any noticeable resource usage differences between Artist and Pro.

Thanks for the information.
Minimum requirements indicate Intel® Core™ i5 (4th Generation). I have Intel® Core™ i7 (2nd Generation) … so I will likely do a trial to see if it performs adequately.
Before I go through the download and installation effort, does anyone have any insights on whether or not Intel® Core™ i7 (2nd Generation) will work?
