Same problem here with Cubase 14, without a midi controller connected.
Are you using MidiView or other software that might affect midi? For me it was the (Akai) midi keyboard I was using that kept sending pitch bend data and changing everything a couple semitones
Hi,
Do you use any other MIDI software (MIDI Loop, MIDI Virtual Ports, ā¦)?
I am having the same problem but intermittently. No other MIDI software in use. I cannot figure this out. I rarely use my Pitch Bend Wheel. This does not happen in Standalones or in Dorico. Only Cubase 14. Windows 11 all up to date.
Hi,
Isnāt it the Sample Rate mismatch?
Hi Martin, It is not. I have been through the affected files and their templates and the Project sample rate and the interface sample rate (Focusrite 2i2 3rd Gen) are the same - 48K. And to be clear it is only the MIDI that is being affected. When it happens a āCā on my MIDI keyboard shows as a āDā or something other in the Editor. Itās weird. Keyboard is a Nektar LX88+.
In settings/preferences try turning off (either or both) āMIDI > Reset on Stopā or āMIDI > Never Reset Chased Controllersā
It was a while ago I had this issue and I think one of those solved it. Hope Iām not confusing things.
Thanks ATC. Both have always been unchecked.
Could you clarify your exact issue in terms of how itās behaving? Is midi being transposed down two semitones?
Yes. Have been too frustrated to note the exact interval but itās probably a second of some sort. Itās as if something in Cubase or the project is sending my keyboard a transpose command. But in my āKey Commandsā there is no āTransposeā command listed. This happens very intermittently - not in all projects, not often.
Sorry Iām not sure I can help any further unless it becomes āblind leading the blindā. I had a similar issue with an Akai MPK261 which Iāve since sold (for other reasons). I had MidiView running which I disabled and may have helped, but I have that installed again now and no issues with my Novation SL Mk3. Iām certain it was a Midi setting that I modified that made it go away, but unfortunately it was two years ago and itās not the kind of memory I cherish apparently ![]()
Itās probably not any of these, but you can check thereās nothing in the automation lanes, no midi modifiers, and transpose isnāt activated as below.
Checking the Info Line is something I had not considered. Thanks for that. Your MIDI image matches my setup. If this happens again I will definitely take a look at the Info Line. Thanks again.
