Cubase Safe Start Mode

I often see starting Cubase in Safe Mode as a means of troubleshooting or solving problems.

Should we always be using Cubase in Safe Mode as a way of preventing problems ?

Does Safe Mode stop Cubase from reading the Preferences folder ?

Safe Start Mode forces Cubase to temporarily use the default settings. If it helps with your issue, then you should run Safe Start Mode again and click the Delete program preferences button. You don’t need to use Safe Start Mode every time you run Cubase.

Issues with the preferences are usually caused by crashes and other computer issues. Sometimes you only start getting buggy behavior after upgrading to a new Cubase version, since your old preferences are imported and the new version may not understand how to deal with the corrupted values.
