The Cubase Sampler Track - Sampler Control duo seems a great tool for producing original sounds.
They seem simple at first glance, but during use questions may arise. And it’s good to know the answers, the devil is always in the details.
When Playback AUDIOWARP is turned on, SYNC and SPEED appear.
According to the manual “If Sync is deactivated, Speed allows you to set the playback speed of the sample manually, in percent.”, the default value of the Speed is 100 %.
- 100% of what?
If Sync is activated, SPEED changes to ORIG BPM.
According to the manual “ORIG BPM allows you to enter the original tempo of the sample in beats per minute. The playback speed of the sample is adjusted to match the tempo of Cubase.”, the default value of the ORIG BPM is 120 bpm. - What does it mean “the original tempo of the sample”?
- If this value applies to Tempo of the Sampler Control toolbar, why won’t that be the default value for ORIG BPM?
- What does it mean “The playback speed of the sample is adjusted to match the tempo of Cubase.”?
This statement would then be understandable, if ORIG BPM didn’t exist and if Sync is turned on, the tempo of the sample in Sampler Control would become the same as the tempo of the sample track.
This forum is read by many experienced Cubase users, perhaps some of whom will find the answers obvious, for which thanks in advance, they may be useful to others.
