Cubase stops playing, when clicking on desktop, other app or elsewhere

Hi Guys,

my Cubase 12 Pro stops playing as soon as I`m clicking another app or desktop.
It happens, no matter what audiointerface I use.

Specs:
M2 Macbook Max, 96 GB Ram, Ventura 13.2.1.

Does anybody have an idea?

Greets,
Lorenzo

Go to the studio setup dialogue box via the menu and check playing when in the background. Can’t remember the exact wording of the check box because I’m not at my computer.

thanks, guys!

This fix did not resolve the issue for me. Just updated to version 13.0.51 and when I click on any thing other than cubase, the track stops.
I have clicked on the box that says ā€œRelease Driver when Application is in the backgroundā€.

You don’t want that box checked.
When that box is checked, Cubase will stop playing when it’s in the background

But, when I uncheck ā€œRelease Driver when Application is in the backgroundā€ it creates another problem. It does not allow to play any video (audio) from other sources on the same audio interface which uses the ASIO driver. For example, if I play audio in Cubase using my AXR4 audio interface and I want, at the same time, to watch video on YouTube I have to switch on my Mac from AXR4 audio interface to built in speakers.

You can change that in the Audio/MIDI settings on the Mac. Mine uses my RME for Cubase and then the built in speakers are set for YouTube/Safari etc.
