Cubase SX Version 2.0.1, build 7

Hi All,

Where can I buy a copy of Cubase SX Version 2.0.1, build 7 as I need this for a friend who’s computer is failing and he does not have the dongle/software installer any more. He does not wish to upgrade as he is happy with this version

Hi and welcome to the forum,

You cannot buy this very, very old (maybe around 20 years old?) Cubase version. You can buy only the latest version, which is Cubase 14 at this moment.

This very old version is definitely not compatible with the current OS versions.

What is the earliest version I can move him up to as I want to maintain the user interface, and compatibility with his current library, he will be moving to Windows 11

Unfortunately I am not particularly fluent with Cubase, so I am not able to recommend the correct solution

Hi,

As mentioned, you can buy only Cubase 14. With this license, you can run Cubase 12, not older versions. From the user interface point of view, Cubase 14 is very close to Cubase 12. There is no reason to use Cubase 12 instead of Cubase 14 if you have the Cubase 14 license.

Cubase SX cannot run without the hardware protection (dongle) connected.
