Can anyone please tell me how to open SX3 on my Windows 10 64 bit?
It installed fine, but when I try and run it, It asks for an E licence which i dont appear to have. I dont want to by a licence just to transfer a few old ARR files
At the same time when I look at my current licences it only shows my old Version 11 and does not show that I upgraded to version 12 Artis. Can i update this?
Any help would be great thanks
Hi,
Cubase SX 3 was a paid application. So to be able to run it, you need Cubase SX 3 or higher license, sitting on the USB-eLicenser.
If you own a Cubase Pro 11 license, you can start Cubase SX 3 with this license. Make sure, you have the latest eLicenser Control Center application installed on the system, please.
If your Cubase 11 is Cubase Artist 11, you cannot start Cubase SX 3 with it. If I’m not mistaken, you would need to install Cubase SL 3 to be able to start it with a Cubase Artist license.
Cubase 12 is not using eLicenser anymore. It’s using the new licensing system. Therefore you cannot see Cubase Artist 12 license on the eLCC.
Hi
Many thanks for this info
Thanks again for this info . I have tried to get version SL3 from the website but it only seems to have updates and It says “Requires an already installed Cubase SL 3 version on your computer!” I dont have a version already installed…I am not sure where to find a copy to install. Please advise?
When you say “the website”, it’s a little vague.
Did you scour the old ftp site?
Did you download “every” choice on this other often-linked page below…which also seems to discuss all available choices…(I did a google search for this)
HI Thanks for this
I have another issue now that maybe you could avise on
I downloaded SL3, and to try it I installed on my laptop. It installed fine, but now I want to uninstall it and when I try I get “cannot open install.log file”
There is no install.log file in the Cubase directory.
Please advise how I can uninstall as I actully want to install it on my main studio computer
Many thanks
Hi once again
So I now realize that I only have a licence for Cubase elements 11 on my studio PC,
So in fact, none of these early versions of Cubase will work on my system.
Sadly now I see no way of revisiting my early works which are either ALL or ARR files.
Do you know of any other way I could open these old files.
Also on my studio PC I have an installation of SX3…I cannot uninstall it cos of the same issue in my earlier post…no “install.log file” Please advise
Thanks for your patience and help
Hi,
If I’m not mistaken, Cubase SE 3 is equivalent to Cubase Elements.
Try to install as administrator, to get all needed permissions (and to be able to uninstall).
HI I tried but cannot see how to install as administrator. If I right click it does not give me that option
Hi,
Then your user is an administrator already, I guess.
regarding the "cannot open INSTALL.LOG file…
I just googled and found this video. `ven though I could not understand him, I watched what he did…and it works !!
