It’s not a comparison, every generation has its great - and it would have to be in their differences, not similarities.
Then why trying so hard to find similarities?
Hardly. Unless you’re employing an “everybody gets a trophy” position.
ROFLMAO

Wait - you are joking, right? This whole topic is about turning Cubase into Ableton.
Yes trying very hard.
Why so hurt about Hans Zimmer?
I respectfully request we keep this civil. I found the rest of your comment demeaning and unnecessary, particularly toward a professional like @mlib (which is why I didn’t quote it).
If this is where the thread is devolving, then we’ve lost the point.
EDIT: I get it’s a “joke,” and I’ve done the same thing, but an edit is probably warranted, IMO.
No, I’m not.
You can use a Clip Launcher in many ways and - at least for me! - the main benefit is that you can put there - drag in existing events, draw them manually - individual, separate ideas (MIDI and/or audio clips) and try out how they work together, without having to commit to a fixed timeline & order.
Just the most basic stuff.
Ableton Live does a lot more than that, and Bitwig goes even further still.
What you’re suggesting is like saying “Ableton is like Cubase”, because it can trigger VTS Instruments with MIDI ![]()
I was being critical of Zimmers output, not expressing personal trauma.
I don’t really find his discourse all that professional to be frank, professionals in the industry don’t really talk about actual professionals like Hans Zimmer like that.
Did he put his hans
I always appreciate bad puns…

No need for the telly.
professionals in the industry don’t really talk about actual professionals like Hans Zimmer like that.
I meant the part about “putting hans on.” Didn’t seem appropriate. But, if you guys are fine with it, then I’ll mind my own business and let you at it
.
Well it was the first pun that came to mind and it’s too late to think of others.
Besides, the phrase is one of fist fighting and wrestling, so, you might just need to get yer mind out of the gutter.
I was referring to the assertion that no one asks for Cubase to be turned into Live, etc.
They do.
Just because a feature is in another DAW is not a reason for it to be in Cubase.
Now you have me thinking I need to delete it so I don’t get banned, but that’s the only reason I am.
It was a funny pun though
If I could take one thing from another DAW,
it would be ability to preference switch Cubendos velocity lines to Logics velocity nodes, because if you have stacked notes, those lines can get in the way.
Just because a feature is in another DAW is not a reason for it to be in Cubase.
If some DAW has a feature that is helping people make music, then - at the very least - it should be considered for Cubase, unless it stands in stark opposition to its ethos. And I don’t see Cubase users complaining about modulators or pattern clips added in v14/15? Quite the opposite, actually!
Mind you, this type of attitude isn’t exclusive to Cubase, for example:
-
lots of Live users were vocal against “bounce in place” that others were begging for for years, because “there’s resampling” or “you can freeze & flatten”. Now they can’t imagine living without it.
-
many Bitwig users opposed to introduction of alias clips or chord track, because “they make for repetitive music” and “make people lazy and reluctant to learn music theory”. Guess what? Now, they’re all raving about it.
In all three cases they were being implemented in a very - creative - manner characteristic to these DAWs and complementing their trademark functionality.
But I guess you’d rather get another derivative & redundant FX like Autofilter or Underwater? They definitely provide more bang-for-the-buck for Cubase users, than a clip launcher that no one wants or needs ![]()
@antic604 I’m obviously not making myself clear, so I’ll leave it there.
@Googly_Shakespeare Sorry if I misunderstood and/or misrepresented you! I’m equally tired of this pointless discussion (not with you, I mean in general)

Thanks for proving my point.
That’s the most pompous load of claptrap I’ve had the misfortune of having to read, in a long time.
Congratulations.
