Got a new system that came with Windows11. Cubase12 installs okay, but I can’t get it to talk with my Korg SV-1. I’ve had problems with the Korg before, but it was working with Windows10. Drivers install, but no MIDI signal. Which of the 3 elements: Windows? Cubase? Korg?
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Google helped me to find the driver quickly, here. Once you install it, you can double-check, the driver is visible for the system (Windows). If Windows can see the device, Cubase should see it too.
Hi, and thanks for the reply. Yes, Windows sees it. Cubase sees it is “missing”. So, I’m thinking it is the Korg SV-1, itself. At the top of their page, it says “for Windows10 and Windows11”, but at the bottom - where the download link is - it only says Windows10, so maybe their driver isn’t as updated as they think. Any reports on Windows11? Is it working with Cubase without issues?
Hi,
Could you attach a screenshot of this, please?
How does it look like in the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup, please?

Hi,
Can I as for this one, please…
Hi,
Do you have any other MIDI device connected? Cubase came see any device.
No, only the Korg SV-1. I’ve tried 3 USB cables. I’ve tried a MIDI-to-USB cable. Nothing.
How do I get into Safe Mode? That only appears when Cubase crashes, in my experience. And I do appreciate your attention to this.
So:
- To open the Safe Mode dialog, launch Cubase, and hold down Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-Alt/Opt.
Hi,
Please see the link in my post above.
Yes, thanks. I did get into SM and disabled my preferences. Still no SV-1. I’ve put it back to my old Windows10 machine, with which the SV-1 works fine. Rather than have this issue drive me nuts, I’m thinking to get a new piano/controller for my new system. I do appreciate your feedback, though.
Hi,
Try to ask at korg forum or korg support.
Will do. By the way, have you heard of Cubasers having issues with Windows11?
