Oh, and for fixing the Master Fader pin :+1::+1:

Hey Steinberg team, could you please consider my feature request for an External Hardware I/O / External FX Insert in Cubasis?

I use an iPad-based workflow with external analog gear for mixing and mastering, and I would really love to use Cubasis instead of Logic Pro for iPad. A proper hardware insert would let me send audio out through my interface, process it through my analog chain, and return it back into Cubasis directly.

That one feature would make Cubasis a much better fit for my workflow, especially since I already value its DAWproject support.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this update has broken my audio link with my MOTU UltraLite AVB. The MIDI side is fine, it sends the MIDI clock fine, and it sees the MOTU. But no audio records along with the MIDI. I used iMazing to roll back to 3.8.3 and the audio worked again. :man_shrugging:

Hi @DCinFlorida,

I’m sorry to hear that. If you had joined the test program, we might have been able to identify and address this issue before the release.

A few questions:

  • Which iPad model, iPadOS version, MOTU firmware version, and adapter/hub are you using?
  • Does Cubasis show any activity on the input meter in the mixer when audio is present?
  • If you connect and power on the MOTU before launching Cubasis, does recording work?
  • Does unplugging and reconnecting the MOTU, then restarting Cubasis, make any difference?
  • Does recording work in a new project set to 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz? Please also try inputs 1/2.

Could you let us know whether any of the following workarounds help?

  • Connect the MOTU before launching Cubasis.
  • After reconnecting the MOTU, fully close and reopen Cubasis.
  • Use a project sample rate of 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz and verify the MOTU’s “To Computer” routing settings.

P.S.: Please create a new post so we can keep everything together, rather than handling it in the update announcement thread.

Best regards,
Lars
