Cubasis 3 - multiple midi devices

Hey, I ran into a problem while setting up my daughter’s cubasis 3…

I successfully connected an AG03 interface and a korg nanokontrol 2 by turning on the midi Mackie protocol via a USB hub to her android tablet. My problem occurs when connecting a Yamaha p-525 as midi key control. When first connected while Mackie control is turned off, the keys are recognized but no input from the nanokontrol. When turning on Mackie control only the nanokontrol seems to give input but not the p-525. Ist there any way to have inputs from both devices at once? Ideally the p-525 would only give input for the keys…

I’ll appreciate any helpful thoughts!

Edit: I’m aware that there is no port selection available for android (at the moment?) but I thought I could run two devices at the same time by using midi learn. Now it seems to me, that only one device can give inputs, is this assumption correct?

Thank you once again!

I have the same observation, only for Cubasis. Both FL Studio Mobile an Roland Zenbeats allow me to use and configure both my seqtrak and keystep. This suggests that it is a Cubasis limitation. A cool workaround would be to have the option to connect my tablet via USB to my desktop and have it show up as a audio/midi interface. This is what I did to use my launchpad with Koala Sampler for example.

Hi @LaXrz

Here comes the feedback from our engineering:

It’s possible to connect multiple MIDI devices to Cubasis on Android via a USB hub, even though there is no port selection. The input of all devices will be merged and processed as if it was one device. This works well for example if you use one device for keyboard input, and the other one for MIDI learn (not Mackie/HUI). Enabling Mackie or HUI while multiple MIDI devices are connected probably won’t work, because all MIDI input is then interpreted as Mackie or HUI protocol. Instead, disable Mackie/HUI and use the MIDI learn button (the above setting in the MIDI setup) to manually assign buttons and knobs to functions in Cubasis.

Best,
Lars
