“What about Android?” has probably been one of the most frequent questions that you have asked us, whenever we’ve released a note about Cubasis.
Now, for the first time, Cubasis — one of the fastest, most intuitive and complete audio and MIDI DAWs — becomes cross-platform compatible, delivering its powerful capabilities to perform, record, mix and share music quickly and efficiently with the iPhone, iPad as well as Android smartphones and tablets.
If I already purchased the iOS app with all In App purchases and registered it am I entitled to download the Android version without additional charge?
Thank you,
Nenad
congrats…that was surprising, didnt think you will go for android in near future !
i see in comparison chart (IOS VS Android) number of in/out on android are 2 and only 48 KHZ recording ?
any plans to have more I/O and More sample rate resolution options ? (44.1 etc…) or its android restrictions right now which seems odd !
no way its gonna work on android 7 phone ? (7 is the latest on my phone )
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer crossgrades or options to migrate the iOS app to Android or vice versa, since both apps are offered and hosted through Apple and Google, which manage the individual stores.
Please find the Cubasis for Android system requirements on our Cubasis website.
Unfortunately Android 8 is required to install the app.
For now, the sample rate is limited to 48 kHz and the number of inputs/outputs to 2/Stereo.
Once this changes, it will be announced in the app description and our website.
Hi Lars
Great news but I cannot figure out if my phone is compatible from the specs and your site before I buy. What do you reckon? Here’s my phone specs.
Are there any chances, that Android 7 might be supported in near future? What’s the reason, that Android 8 is required by now? And does the Cubasis Project Importer also work with Nuendo?
a white list of supported Android devices would be great. Also a black list of not supported devices.
What about a demo version, so you can check to which extend Cubasis is working with my Android devices?
For example: What is with my Huawei P30 Pro smartphone?
And what is with newer Huawei devices that have no Google Services and Market support like the Matepad Pro?
Would there a way to buy Cubasis in the Amazon App Store?
Questions over questions.
Cubasis requires a 64-bit CPU smartphone or tablet device supporting arm64-v8a ABI, running Android 8.
To check, if Cubasis will run on your smartphone or tablet, please open Cubasis on Google Play with your device.
If the app is available for purchase, it should function basically.

If it fails to work as expected, there is the option to ask Google for a refund.
We will evaluate the options to release Cubais LE for Android at a later date, which will allow our users to freely check out the app with a smaller feature set in demo mode.
I don’t know if it’s the actual reason but Android 8 was the first version that officially supported low latency audio (AAudio). So it makes sense. You don’t want to play real time music with the typical latency of older devices, trust me.
