Cubasis for iPad -> Does mouse work? Guitar Rig doesnt work?

hi there,
new ipad, wanna have a mobile studio

  1. i had cubasis years ago bought on ipad. can i still use it for upgrades to the newest Cubasis? how?
  2. i hate finger touch when working → does a mouse work on newest ipad (air maybe) for Cubasis?
  3. i heard that plugins like Guitar Rig 7 or Neutron 4 (because VST3?) wont work? why is that? i think to actully make Cubasis a legit thing to use it should be possible asap
(Apple uses AUV4, ok. But Native Instruments should also supply that?)

thanks for help and comments,
maz:)

Hi mazemania,
First of all what iPad and iOS version are you using?

Any usb mouse will work with the iPad, even a cheap alternative to the Apple Pencil will work successfully, a usb qwerty keyboard will also work which is especially useful for using keyboard shortcuts to navigate Cubasis 3.
Mike

thanks. how about guitar rig 7 and neutron 4, is it working?

Hi @mazemania

Thanks for your message.

You can still use Cubasis 2, but there is no option to upgrade Cubasis 2 to Cubasis 3 (since Apple does not offer such options for mobile apps).

To learn more about what Cubasis 3 offers, you may check the following links:

With Cubasis 3.5, Mouse scrolling support was added next to several other improvements. Please take a look at the following clip provided by our friend MobileMusicPro, to see mouse support with Cubasis demonstrated.

It is not possible to use desktop plug-ins on iOS/iPadOS. However, Cubasis for iOS/iPadOS supports Audio Unit (AUv3) plug-ins, and the world of available AUv3 plug-ins is vast. You should easily find instruments and effects of any kind, from independent developers to well-known brands.

Best,
Lars
