Cubasis LE + UR44C: exported audio in WAV is silent

Hi everyone,

I’m using Cubasis LE on my iPad together with a Steinberg UR44C audio interface. Recording works fine and I can use the app without time restrictions, but whenever I try to export a project in WAV, the resulting file is silent (no audio).

My questions are:

  1. Does Cubasis LE actually allow exporting audio in WAV when used with Steinberg interfaces like the UR44C?

  2. Or do I need to purchase the Full Feature Set / Cubasis 3 in order to export full, audible tracks?

  3. My main use case is simply to record with the iPad and export the tracks in WAV so I can work on them later on my computer.

I’d like to confirm whether I’m missing a routing setting (Stereo Out, monitoring, etc.), or if this is simply a built-in limitation of the LE version that requires upgrading to get proper audio export.

Hi. Unfortunately I haven’t tried this but here is what Microsoft’s copilot said:

  • Basic audio exports (e.g., WAV files) are possible, especially when paired with compatible Steinberg hardware like the UR series.

  • MIDI file export is generally supported.

  • DAWproject format (for transferring projects between Cubasis and Cubase) is only available in Cubasis 3.7.5 or newer, not in Cubasis LE.

I’ve created a mixdown in Cubasis LE using a short section of the included “Smear” demo song, where things work as expected - see the clip below.
Please give the same steps a try yourself and let me know about your results.

If the problem persists, please provide us with a short clip which shows all steps leading to your problem.
