I’m looking to get my 11yo daughter something that’s an upgrade on Garage Band for her songwriting but she’s on got a 16GB iPad. Is Cubasis an option or does she need 32GB or above?

Yes, 16Gb is enough to run Cubasis with a dozen of projects or so, depending on the projects complexity. Basically, you may check how much free space is there on that iPad. Cubasis takes about 1Gb. Then count something around 100-500Mb for each project. You’ll have the general idea how much you can fit in there. Also, it’s best to have about a gigabyte of free space in all times for reserve.
