I want to be able to replicate this passage from a tpt. part from Bartok’s ‘Concerto for Orchestra’. Note the 8va in the cue.

I don’t think you can replicate the 8va line automatically, but if you set the Octave Shift property for the cue to -1 it will be labeled “Vln 1 8va,” which seems near enough.
BTW, it looks like your source is the older, unrevised edition of the Bartok. You might want to check the newer edition to see if some of the notational oddities are carried over.
