I’m trying to create this unique harp notation which involves two stacked noteheads separated by an arrowhead in between, as seen below -
So the very first thing I did was go into the vertical line editor and created a custom double line, thin, with added spacing in between, and then selected the chevron arrowhead as an end cap -
It’s almost there but as you can see I drew an arrow pointing at a weird gap issue on the left side, where the left line is noticeably lower -
I also created a downward arrow version by reversing the end cap, same issue.
Next I went to apply this to my actual notes (after toggling hide stem). At first it places the vertical line to the side, which makes sense, but after playing with the “distance from item” settings, I was unable to produce a result where it could encircle the noteheads. I noticed also the bottom panel does not appear to have an offset for horizontal positioning, so I manually moved it over the noteheads inside of Engrave mode. Currently this is far as I could get it:
(each measure showing before & after engrave mode adjustment)
Finally I looked but couldn’t find a way to remove ledger lines as shown in the original example.
I am attaching my simple project file here in case anyone is able to take a look at my line editor and recommend how to fix this.
And if there is an even better way to approach this than I’m attempting, please let me know!
