What is the key command for cutting an audio to retain only the part between the locators. I can’t seem to recall.

I’m afraid, there is no this kind of function. You can cut at the Cursor position, and you can Move Cursor to the Left or Right Locators. So you can make a Macro.
You can use Edit | Functions | Split Loop for that.
