Addition; when turning off cycle during play(in a loop), the metronome jumps out of sync with the audio. With stop&play the metronome is back in sync again
Tested doing the same way and cannot reproduce.
Could be a result of many parameters - sample rate, bit depth, tempo changes and maybe some others. Give more info, please.
Which version of VST Live?
Can send you the project if you’re interested
Yes, I’m interested, but wait, don’t share your project. I can replicate. You probably didn’t wait more repeats if you play from begining. Try, it will be silent on 3rd or 4th repeat or even later.
@Spork, here is bug, I can replicate. This is test on my laptop (Ryzen 5 / 2.0 GHz)
- import audio file into new project (tested mp3 and wav)
- set loop only bar 5
- activate cycle
- play from loop start - I have silent 1/3 of a bar only every second repeat (first go don’t count, also in all following tests)
- play from bar 4 and keep looping - the silence comes only every third repeat
- play from bar 3 - the silence comes only every fourth repeat
- play from bar 2 - the silence comes only every eighth repeat
- play from bar 1 - I counted to 24 and no silence comes.
The same test on my desktop (Intel i7-11700KF / 3.6 GHz)
- play from loop start - silence every ninth (!!!) repeat
- play from bar 4 - silence every third repeat
… all other steps gave the same results as on laptop.
Tested using version 3.0.32 (the 3.0.24 gave different results), the tempo of the imported song is 69.75 bpm.
Then I opened my big project and tested on songs with different tempo and noticed that every tempo gives different result. On tempo 130 bpm the playing from loop start makes every repeat silent (silent is only 1/3 of the bar like it’s seen in Steve’s video).
