Cymbal Roll Notation with VDL

I have been looking to create percussion maps for instruments using VDL (Virtual Drum Line), but I am stuck as to how I might be able to map cymbal rolls. For those that are familiar, VDL has different length rolls sampled, and a key played on a midi keyboard will trigger the roll. As such, the roll may need to be triggered before or after the actual desired start in notation to get the correct playback. Also, with the varying note notation needed, there will be some very weird notation in the score to get the correct sound.

How might I go about notating in Dorico such that I can play cymbals as normally notated (with tremolo on a single staff line or space) with the correct playback?
