The title is quite amusing. It’s very different from what you usually present. I like it; the orchestration is very interesting, as is the musical development. Excellent use of woodwinds. You should present more pieces like this.

Thanks for listening, Rene. The previous piece I uploaded here is actually getting a public performance soon, to my surprise, and I thought I really ought to have something else prepared to be played, just in case somebody in the audience likes it. It is certainly a learning experience.
Very much a latecomer to this, and sorry for that. Chrome has been giving me a hard time signing in here. This a very nice piece. It’s well written and recorded, and I particularly liked the pizzicato strings and woodwinds. All of the orchestral sounds are great, and I can imagine that it was a lot of fun putting this together. Parts sound kind of cinematic, and other parts strike me as 19th century classical from the Romantic era (Mendelssohn, perhaps-although I’m far from an expert on that era, or him).
Looking forward to whatever comes next from you.

I should tell you that the string solo instruments are not Spitfire BBC Pro. I had bought Spitfire BBC Core, and got an offer to upgrade, which I mainly wanted because it included string section soloists, which I thought I could use for solos. But it turned out that the string section soloists were not good at all. I was pretty disappointed.
The string soloists you hear are from 8dio, a very inexpensive library, and not Spitfire BBC Pro. On the other hand the soloists in the woodwinds are working for me, and they are already available in BBC Core. I think this is also the case with the brass, but I haven’t spent a lot of time auditioning the brass soloists. I’ve use a couple, and they sound good.
The Spitfire BBC Pro library string sections sound very good to me, but you get those with Core, and I have not compared them with competitive string libraries. I can tell you that BBC Core string sections sound more realistic than 8dio string sections. But, 8dio string solos sound more realistic than Spitfire BBC Core. And I’m also irked that the Spitfire BBC bass is unrealistically limited in its range. So I often have to go to 8dio to get notes that Spitfire doesn’t offer. Can’t even think of any rationale for Spitfire to limit it like this.
Sorry for the rant! I even bought Spitfire Solo Strings. Another complete disappointment. I didn’t realize that most of the instruments didn’t have legato.

Thank you for the feedback! When I was writing this, the idea was having a rhythm that sounded mostly like a dance, but often didn’t align with normal dance rhythms. It’s supposed to sound like a dance, but go off the track. Which made me think of how a ratchet wrench works. It was fun to compose. Breaking rules here and there.

I know what you mean there are a few classical tunes with dance of the something as titles, they probs did start bopping about back in those days a bit like an 18th century rave or whatever when attending a concert .my dad used to be a big classical music listener on vinyl and of course id hear it all from being very young and your tune really is lovely. When I was at school we would sometimes be given the title of an old classic tune and the teacher would play the recording and we had to write down a story and images it conjured .

That title was certainly a good lure! I had playback issues for some reason here, so went straight to Souncloud, where I then had login issues! Anyway, got there in the end.
Nicely orchestrated - kind of whimsical, playful, even a hint of mystery in parts, with the pizz strings clearly telling much of the story.
I actually have the free Spitfire free collection - I like them, and when combined with other libraries that I have, I feel I have a more than adequate selection for my purposes so have never felt the need to spend $ on the pro library. But they do sound good!
