Darren Jones of @MusicTechTuition tutorials and reviews needs your help

Since I started using Cubase back at 10.5, Darren Jones @MusicTechTuition on YouTube has been my go to man. He has released many books on Cubase & Dorico and was hoping to release his Cubase 14 book with the release of the software. Alas, he has cancer and today he went in for an operation which will hopefully cure him!

As he can no longer work in the short term, I have set up a fund raiser page for him so that he comes back strong and continues his fine work.

I checked the T&Cs of the forum and I didn’t see anything stopping me posting this but I am also aware that rules can be re-written.

If, in the event of Steinberg moderators not allowing this post, then just check out his work - he has made more people continue to use Cubase when they were preparing to use other DAWs. If you can’t post this, then please make a donation instead?!

An up to date to my post.
Sadly, Darren was given a few months to live after his op. He has posted a Goodbye video on his YT channel. My fundraising link is still very much active and all donations are now even more appreciated.

He was also able to finish his Cubase 14 book which is now available from Amazon.

Tx Brad, I have been surprised how little reaction I have had from this forum to this news. Darren was a huge advocate for Cubase.

Je suis vraiment triste pour Darren . Je viens également de tomber dessus. J’aurais aimé partager avec lui cet immense talentueux technicien et musicien du logiciel!!!

Darren Jones passed away on 11 August 2025.

I’ll miss his tutorials … , his books, his YouTube channel …

Oh gosh, I had not heard from him after I sent the final part of his justgiving money to him and so I suspected he was probably close to succumbing to this horrible disease. He was a lovely, lovely man. If you donated to his justgiving page I would like to thank you on his behalf. I doubt anyone will care as much about Cubase in the future as he did!
