DAW advice for home studio (i7-7800X or i7-7740X ?)

Dear All,
I would like to re-build my home studio recording.
I use DAW station principally for audio production (Cubase10) and, small, video editing.
My big concern is about processor to install: better to use 4 core with the higher frequencies or 6 core with low frequencies?

Here the specs of my hardware :

Processor:

*Intel® Core™ i7 Six Core Processor i7-7800X (3.5GHz) 8.25MB Cache
or
*Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core Processor i7-7740X (4.3GHz) 8MB Cache

MotherB: ASUS® PRIME X299-A: ATX, USB 3.1, SATA 6 GB/s, RGB Ready
RAM: 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3000MHz (2 x 16GB)
SSD: 1T Evo Samung
POWER: CORSAIR 550W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
video card: Nvidia Quadro NVS510
videomonitor : LG 43UD79-B
audiomonitor: Yamaha HS5
audiocard: UA Arrow

What do you would you choose?
Please feel free to add your advice.
Thanks in advance for your time.

It doesn’t seem to make sense to me to buy a quad core x299 platform processor these days. Unless there are some Intel-specific features you need you’d be way better off buying an AMD 8-core Zen-2 processor instead. Of course there are probably other intel CPUs that are better as well.

Search the forum for recommendations. There was a link to scanproaudio recently and you can find performance charts for DAWs on their webpage. For video performance check out pugetsystems or whatever they’re called.

And what video editing software will you be using?

Hi
thanks for the reply!
Actually, for video editing, I use to edit with (basic) NCH bundle.
For daw configuration, I just picked up set up for audio pc in “pcspecialist.co.uk”, don’t know if there is real differences using a AMD or Intel at my level.
Thanks also for " scanproaudio" tip, I’ll check it out!
