decide to upgrade old pc

I have a old PC with this specs:
CPU: i7 2700k
RAM: 16GB DDR3
SSD: Samsung EVO86
should i upgrade to newest cpu generations?

Ok, well we still have no idea what you’re going to use it for. 2 virtual instruments? 20? 40?

12 audio tracks only, no effect? With effects? 34 audio tracks? 48 audio tracks with a lot of plugins?

Orchestral library streaming?

Music to picture?

If it doesn’t do what you need it to do then upgrade. Mine did audio great but struggled with video which I had started to work with so I upgraded. I would not have bothered otherwise.
