Default Layouts on Mac

I can’t get this to work for Montage. I set up a layout, save it as default and this is not the layout that comes up when I open a new montage, or when I start Wavelab 7 up. What am I not doing correctly?

If I name a layout and save it, I can recall this layout - it’s just the default which seems to be a problem.

WaveLab uses the last closed layout as implicit default. The so called “default” layout is the option that appears when you call the menu “Open empty workspace” (Switcher buttons). See:

I agree this is a bit misleading and could be improved.
