Delete empty pages at the end of a score:

Hi. I’m working on a large score (16 flows, 77 pages) for choir and piano. Originally an imported XML file.

I have now done a lot of editing (made empty staves invisible, moved things into the same frame, etc.) and thereby reduced the number of pages in the project.

Unfortunately, I now have 11 empty pages at the end of the project that I cannot delete in any way. There are NO overrides that can be deleted - which would be the authorized solution.

If I create a new layout, there are no empty pages, but I really don’t want to do that - it would be a huge amount of work!

What do I do? Is there a smart trick? (And why isn’t there actually a “button” to delete pages when you can insert pages??)

Merry Christmas to all

You mean there are no red triangles (or other marks) on the page icons in Engrave mode?

Can you show a screenshot of the page icons, at least? Ideally, we’d need to see the document itself.

Exactly: no red triangles!

Can I attach the Dorico file here?

Ah yes: but you’ve got the green edges, which means that you’ve manually changed the Page Template.

You should be able to get rid of the extra pages by removing the Page Template Changes from 69 and 70.

There are page template changes. I wonder: have you made sure that each template has an odd and even page? Because if you’re trying to add an odd page (right one) and only the even has something on, Dorico will be forced to add a blank odd page before it can display anything, and that’s the even page :person_shrugging:
There is a button at the top of template editor to copy L to R and R to L. Use it!
Hope it helps!

Ah, that made the difference:
Right-click on the page with the green border > Remove Page Changes.
Thank you so much - saved the Christmas

Good guess, but: all the templates have an odd and even page.
Thank you, anyways

This screenshot doesn’t show the final page icons in the right panel.

In that Pages section on the right, scroll all the way to the bottom of the page preview icons, and chances are you’ll see another page override (which doesn’t have to be a red triangle, it could be another type of change).
