I’m revisiting an old project that has some 32bit VSTis in it. Since they’re no longer supported, they keep showing up as missing when I open the project. But I can’t find any way to delete them. When I go over to the track expecting the remove selected track option, it’s not present.
Best thing you can do is scan your c-drive for .vst2 files.
They all should be in a common, logical place, but some 3th party manufacturers have not received that information.
In top menu bar, there is something like “Workspaces” and there is “VST Plugin Manager”
in this, there is LEFT BOTTOM a SETTINGS Icon (a gear), will show the folders which Cubase use.
In my case, I have two, showing to folder “VST2”,they don’t cause a problem at my machine, because I dont use their content, if they exist.
In your case, would delete the files in this folders, and even delete this folder from this list.
If track needs it, I would delete track?
Thanks. but neither suggestion worked. It’s a new PC and the B4 was never installed because it’s a 32bit VSTi. As such it is not listed in any folder anywhere on this PC. It is only showing up as a shell in this old project. You would think that would be the easiest type of object to delete!
You can see it in the list and at the bottom of the rack. But there is not one single command that will delete it from the rack or list. It is not in the blocked plugins list. It is not in any VST2 File folders, which I deleted anyway. It’s just a shell that kicks out an error message reminding me that it’s not there whenever I launch the project. This is nuts!
You understand the situation just fine. I didn’t understand how to access the “no plugin” command you were referring to. All of the other plugs have a remove function that I can access in the project window. But as the screen shot showed, no such command existed for this B4II shell. I was so used to deleting instruments that way, that I completely forgot about the rack view!
Once I changed to rack view, I got the window that let me access the NO VST INSTRUMENT option and I was able to delete it! Thanks a lot!!
