Did Studio One buy out Cubase? (Mix Window)

Seriously this mix window is ridiculous looking. If I wanted to use Studio One I would purchase it. It’s so busy my eyes don’t have a real focus point, everything just blends in. Not a fan whatsoever.

I find it a bit hard on the eyes as well.
C12 Is still Cleaner. Here is the same session with both versions as a Comparison and I still can’t like C13 :frowning:

I don’t have C13 yet, but judging from your screenshots, I’m not gonna like the new look either. Looks cheap, which imho is a problem with that “flat design” that has plagued the industry since Ableton Live. That works fine in limited spaces like Phones or maybe even plugin, but not always in full desktop applications.
I guess one will get used to it. It took me really a long time to transition from C6 to C9 with the new mix console…

It’s not just that. “Flat” desegin. It goes beyond that in my opinion. Contrast for example.
C13 has A lot of things “Too white” in the channel window, the track name is white, the Mute button has white text, Solo button white text, all other icons has a white text which clutters a lot.
Anwyay… I think we should get used to it!

you’re right, and it is even white on light gray, which isn’t ideal - just as bad as dark gray font on a black backgound.

Maybe an apprentice at Studio One was approached by Steinberg with a good offer :upside_down_face:
Im the same , the text being white really is off putting at the moment . especially with a dark colour scheme

And why have they left the Control Room ‘look’ unchanged from C12, with the silly ‘half-gradient’ shaded buttons.? That stuff is from a bygone era…

That’s weird because all the sellers, ooops, I mean “Professional reviews” in the slew of nda released videos say it’s “modern”…

I am SO glad I am not the only one.

Another thing that bugs me is the channel names on the mixer. In C12, we had a thick horizontal line with the color and the name background is a much darker color of the track, this way, All tracks can have the White text. Now, since the track name background is the track color, They have to use some black font for light colors and white font for dark colors. Creating a very inconsistent and unpleasing view of the mixer.

its not modern its like smartphone app

It seems as if the designers were in a hurry to ruin the design

That is the result when you bulid the product in deep secrecy form majority of users!
Forced UI changes - how many times people must point out their terrible UI so they finally build proper theme and UI customisation?

Why is the menu bar white and old?
Why are the warning and save windows still outdated?
Why the fonts become white and ugly???
