Difficulty renaming a macro in the Key Commands window

Hey folks. I’m having some issues trying to rename macros I’ve created in the Key Commands window. For some reason, double-clicking on New Macro is not allowing me to input a new title…most of the time. Occasionally it’ll work and I can change one, but if I try another, no luck. It’s a little weird. Any suggestions? I’m in 14.0.20 on a MacPro running Sequoia.

Hi there. Unfortunately I can’t test your scenario since I’m running Cubase 12 on a PC.
In Cubase 12 however, a single click will select the Macro and a second single click on the selected Macro allows you to rename it. I know Steinberg updated the Key Commands window in v13 so this behavior might have changed as well, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

If single clicks do not work for some reason you could rename your macros by editing the Key Commands.xml file. Just make sure Cubase is not running when doing so and be aware that you would have to change the name in two places in that file.
The file should be located in: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase 14

Hey mlib, thanks for the reply. Yeah, it’s a little odd. Single clicks, double clicks, restarting Cubase, etc., I’ve tried everything that I could think of that’s worked in the past, but no luck. I was able to rename it in the .xml file, but hopefully I can get the normal way it works figured out.

Bump for this one. Six months later, updated to Cubase 15, still having the problem.
