Direct Monitoring option is greyed out for me?

In the Device Setup menu, the Direct Monitoring option is greyed out for me?

I’m using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 and Cubase Artist 8.5.

I can use direct monitoring by using the Scarlet MixControl and unmuting the inputs instead of using the monitoring within Cubase, but I’m hoping to smooth out my workflow by not having to go back and forth from Cubase and Scarlett Mixcontrol every time I want to activate monitoring, and just be able to do everything within Cubase. Is this really not possible…?

Hi there

I’m not certain but think the direct monitoring option is only available if you are using Steinberg hardware, the UR series for example, otherwise you have to use the software that comes with the interface as you already have done

Works fine with rme, Motu, tc, and most other brands.
Look for a driver update.

That´s because your interface doesn´t support ASIO Direct monitoring - therefore the “Mix”-knob to do it manually.
