Direct offline process fail

I have currently lost the ability to apply and PROCESS feature (gain, fade in/out, etc.). Every attempt prompts a FAILED (exclamation mark “!”).

I’ve previously used these frequently. I uninstalled and reinstalled Cubase 10.5.

What can I do?

Could you try in the Cubase Safe Start Mode [Disable preferences], please?

I did. Reseting/ deleting preferences didn’t work.

Is the project (and the audio file) stored in the location, where you have write permissions?

Yes. I checked both drives and my SSD allows writing permission.

Does this happen with all projects or only one project, please?

Could you try to File > Back up Project? Does it work with the back upped project?

Currently, no projects allow for direct offline processing of the audio files. Processes can only be added to the track.
