Direct Offline Processing behaviour on MXF-Files

I stumbled across a problem while editing a clip.

As soon as I insert a plugin in the Direct Offline Processing tab (F7), the audio of this clip disappears and the waveform display also disappears. After removing the plugin, the audio comes back, but the waveform display is still gone.

After some trial and error, I was able to isolate the behavior to MXF files.

Has anyone noticed the same behavior?

In my case it was a ProTools standard export from DaVinci Resolve (AAF)

I can’t remember if it was exactly that behavior, but I’ve had numerous problems when processing MXF files in Nuendo.
Since then I just always convert all files to WAV at the beginning of a project and work from there.
