Disabling Cursor moving on timeline while grabbing for zoom

Just as the title says , IIRC there’s a tick box for disabling the function and stopping the cursor jumping to where you grab the timeline zoom ? .

Cheers

Hi,

You can use the [G] and [H] Key Commands to Zoom In/Out instead.

No, there’s just the opposite. (Disable timeline zoom)

I don’t want an instead Martin lol

Exactly what i thought , ohh well , i’m finding this whole swapping to the 12.0.52 very very tedious , i don’t know if it’s because for 9 years all my preferences have ported across from Cubase version to version with no issues but now NON of my Generic Controller templates will load and i mean NON , so now ALL my short cuts are gone .
I spent 3/4’s of a day setting up pages and controllers for the control room with the new Lego MR to find out only half of the poxy thing do not work , so now with ONE EYE ive have to re-adjust everything and ive only moved from 12.0.50 ffs .

By the way ALL controllers i have have encoders NOT knobs , and that’s six controllers for six different sections of Cubase .

I wish I could say I understand how you feel, but I probably don’t. It’s unimaginable. That’s why I wholeheartedly justify your crankiness, it’s fair and just under the circumstances. But then you want to mess with the Generic Remote and the MIDI Remote on top of all that?! Come on, take a break! Do the easy, fulfilling stuff instead.

Regarding the GR. Now that it has been marked as legacy, you have to go to the studio setup, import one of your remotes, create new Generic Remote, import another one, create new Generic, import another one, I don’t know how many different remotes you use. It should work right away. Are you saying they’re not importing at all?

Just don’t mix GR and MR together right now if your GR is doing everything you need. Why create more headaches for you? Just ■■■■ it and wait it out some more, so that when it can do what you want, you devote the time, energy and anger to set it up just once.

No , it just means i now have a reason to be cranky  :+1: There’s a lot worse off than me

Thanks but you really have missed my point , my point is , i Can not do the easy stuff because ALL of my easy 20 year old presets are now gone , so there is no easy . Generic remote is NOT importing my controller maps .
Im not mixing , ive been forced to moves to the MR , or do i spend time remaking all my controller templates to suit , but how long will they last , the CmC QC’s already completely NAFFED even thou the CC121 has just had new driver updates.
So forgive my crankiness because i would of loved nothing more than coming to the forum and being my Steinberg fanboy usual self and claiming deep and utter devotion (ooh there’s a song in there somewhere ) but ALL the easy stuff is now on hold until this Lego MR is properly implemented for use by people that just want to create music and earn . Now my workflow has halved , muscle memories gone , Led light and Magnifying glass just to see new (to me ) key commands .
I don’t mean to be cranky but come on this isn’t good for the creative soul

I see. I wouldn’t be happy if half my stuff suddenly didn’t work either. But don’t things work as they used to in 11? Or do you need to be dongle-free that much?

Ahaha , ive only moved from C12.0.50 lol , that’s the thing , there must be something lost in translation here , these controller maps are automatically imported with user preferences when updating Cubase . BUT because i have now moved to a new system , i saved ALL my controller templates and tried importing them in the correct and appreciate way , you see the GR controls renumber when you import but they are all wrong .
Why should i have to go back to 11 when ive been using 12 since the day it was released ?

I still don’t understand the exact timeline, sorry. So you had the old PC, up to 12.0.50 all working well? And then you set up the new one with 12.0.52 but it won’t import the generic remotes? Or rather, it imports them but they’re wrong?

I thought this remote business was a problem for you with 12 in general, I didn’t catch that you had everything working fine in 12 before.

Exactly

did you even try to import them?

Ermm , i had to think before letting my fingers type . , what do you think ?
