Keen to read your views on comparing dithering algorithms. I am a newb in this specialised field.
Have you tried the dither audition function? I don’t have much experience with it, and don’t have any particular opinion about this vs that, but some lengthy discussions have ended with the suggestion to simply use flat TPDF and not worry about it too much. But you may come to a different conclusion after listening.
“Which Types To Use” (under Different Types):
Says TPDF should be used if the dithered file will be subject to further processing.
Color or noise shaping is ok if the dithered file will not be subject to further processing.
I guess it’s up to you which to use at what stage, and to decide whether your final cd master or distibuted wav files will possibly be subject to further processing.
