Pro Tools has a great features where you can optimize your system using the Disk Cache feature to load your entire system into RAM. Does Cubase have such a feature?
No
Compared to SSDs, having everything in memory does not give significant advantages.
I remember loading up a full patch from EWQL Pianos. It took about 25s from a HDD, 12s from SATA II SSD, and only slightly less than for the SSD to load from disk cache.
Basically, as far as DAWs go, non-RAID SSDs are about as good as it gets, as there isn’t much opportunity to improve on them with using RAM or RAID0.
Lucky for me I had an extra SSD, so I’m using it for my audio files. Much faster W/R speeds.
