Having a weird problem where the disk load bar is flickering madly between about 2/3rds and 1/3rd - never ever seen Cubase do that before? Also leads to dropouts.

Use some diagnostics to observe, what else does read/write from/to the disk, please.
Sure I looked into that and could nto find anything outside of Cubase. I did find a restart fixed it for about an hour then it started up again. I am going to have to do more investigation just a very odd thing that I had never seen before in all my years of using Cubase, I mean I have seen the disk load go up and down but not this rapid jumping between two values
Do you use HDD or SSD?
ssd for everything
