I’m just trying to understand this mechanism. On my Windows laptop, when I playback a project heavy with synths, the ‘average load’ in the performance meter goes to max, and sometimes I get those jumps in ‘real time peak’ and ‘disk’.
That makes sense because of the CPU straining synths, but in the task manager, I see that the CPU doesn’t spike at all and instead the disks spike. My disks are SSD and NVME though.
What I don’t understand is, if there’s a real CPU load, should the CPU spike in the task manager graph? Because it’s very strange that the disks spike if I just use synths and not any Kontakt instruments.
Would appreciate any input on this,
