Displaying cut time symbol using

I’m checking to see if there’s a way of entering the abbreviated cut time symbol when using the Time Signature Plain Font in a project. I realize that there’s no symbol for that in a non-SMuFL font, but I thought that with the ‘Substitutes:’ option selected in the Edit Font Styles window and a SMuFL font added as a substitute that it might work.
Instead, the cut time symbol is displayed as this:

Any thoughts on whether there’s a solution/workaround/etc. for this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, @teddfirth. I assume you want to use the regular cut common sign from your standard music font in this situation? There’s no way to do this at the moment, but it’s something we could do.

Or is there a different plain text character you would like to use instead of the standard cut common sign?

Thanks for the reply, Daniel. Yes, I’d be looking to use the regular cut common sign from the standard music font I’m using.

I think I’m confused as to the functionality of having the ‘Substitutes:’ option selected in the Edit Font Styles window with a SMuFL font added as a substitute when editing the Time Signature Plain Font. I figured it might achieve what I’m looking for, but apparently it doesn’t. Thanks for any insight on this.
